Gacha (or Gachapon) is a monetisation technique used in many successful Japanese free-to-play games. Originally a term used for Japanese Toy machines, this is used to describe games that pull a selection of data, people, heroes, etc. from a large pool at random.

while the various co-conspirators on the website post about videogames and mental health issues, i figured i would wrap up all of mine in a convenient and easy to find manner.
i’ve never really been a hard drug user but there are times in my life i have cut off all social contact in order to either play jrpgs or watch romance animé.

knowing this, you should know that when approached with the idea of playing Gatchapon games for the entertainment of other people i would be completely on board.
having more time in my life since I try not to spend every single waking moment reading awful manga, i figured hey: we can give this a shot.
worst case scenario is you empathize with my plight and you too chose to walk this lonely path with me. best case scenario? you come out of this with a ton of jokes about people who watch anime
and play these sorts of embarrassing games in earnest

also I wont be approaching these games with detached irony. if a game asks me to take a selfie with a character, you can make a bet with your own ass that i’m going to make sure i only do it
with my absolute favorite character completely in earnest. if i give a game a good recommendation it’s gonna be because i can actually recommend it

we’ll also be using a rating criteria here that can actually exclude some of my recommendations

M (for moe) 
how awful does this game get in its interactions with characters? how many big dick/big titty demons are there? does the game ever want me to blow on them?
this is a rating that only comes in negative numbers.

P (for portability) 
can you actually play this game in short bursts? on the train to work? while having an argument with your ex husband over who gets the kids and all of your collective possessions?

G (for Grind)
realistically, how much bread does this game think i’m actually willing to get? how much of my own bread do i need to use to exchange aforementioned big dick/big titty demons?
